This session explores the connection between behavior management, classroom management, and relationship-building as key strategies for supporting students impacted by gang involvement and disengagement. Strong relationships are a powerful behavior-management tool that help prevent disruptions, build structure, and promote student self-regulation. Participants will learn practical, relationship-centered strategies to engage challenging students, maintain high expectations, and shift from compliance-based discipline to connection-driven practices. Through interactive discussion and real-world examples, educators and administrators will learn how to re-imagine teaching and learning by creating positive, supportive environments that can be replicated across campuses.
