In this session, participants will explore a Color Wheel of Engagement framework that reframes lesson design through six engagement modalities—visual, kinesthetic, collaborative, verbal, creative, and analytical—to ensure instruction reaches a wider range of learners.
Rather than viewing engagement as entertainment, this session positions engagement as intentional cognitive access. Teachers will learn how to audit existing lessons for modality balance, identify overused and underused engagement “colors,” and remix lessons by adding high-impact entry points that increase participation and rigor without requiring a complete redesign.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities including a lesson engagement audit, a guided lesson remix, and a mini station-rotation design experience. Practical planning tools such as an engagement color wheel, a 3-Color Rule planning framework (input, processing, output), and station-rotation templates will be provided.

This session reimagines teaching and learning by shifting from one-size-fits-all instruction toward experience design, where teachers function as learning designers who intentionally layer multiple access points into every lesson. Participants will leave with concrete strategies and tools they can immediately apply across grade levels and subject areas to create classrooms where more students see themselves reflected in the learning process.
