We believe in order for our students to learn to be Kind we need to teach it to them and give them chances to practice Acts of Kindness. Being Kind is not natural in this day and age. A lot of schools have Kindness as part of their Missions Statements, Goals, or PBIS plans, but don't actively teach and model this to our students. In our changing society and students being able to read unkind social media posts and see unkind videos we need to help them rise above this and be better human beings. We will share lessons we have used in our classes to help with these concepts. We will also share ways in which to make our classrooms more inviting to help with teaching these ideas. We will also share lessons and ideas to help teach our students how to use Social Media responsibly since that is where so much of this begins.
