AVUHSD Professional Development 26-27

In the professional development session Visible Voices - we will guide teachers through a shift from passive observation to high-stakes cognitive engagement using mini whiteboards as a primary catalyst. The session explores the psychological safety of the erasable surface, demonstrating how slates empower introverted learners and facilitate real-time equity of voice. Participants will actively move through sophisticated participation structures, such as: the Socratic Seminar, Silent Symposium, Expert/Consultant model, and the Grouping Gallery. Teachers will see how mini white boards can be used as a silent microphone, collaborative work, kinetic learning, and peer teaching. By modeling Blind Reveals and Stop & Write reflections, we will provide teachers with a hands-on toolkit to transform their classrooms into dynamic hubs of visible processing and creative problem-solving. *We will also incorporate a few tools from Google Vids and raffle off a mini white board set or two
